LEGO Star Wars Strikes Back!!!

Just announced today on the Star Wars official website:

The Disney X D series, LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures will release a second season this summer!

Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, Programming and general manager, Disney XD, said, “The series creators expertly deliver an equal amount of comedy and signature Star Wars adventure into their storytelling. We’re looking forward to bringing our viewers a brand new season of galactic adventures with the Freemaker family throughout summer.”

At the end of season 1, the Freemaker family – composed of three siblings and their old Clone War-age battle droid, Roger – decided to join the Rebel Alliance and help them in their fight against the constantly more-oppressive Empire. The show is set during the time between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and has featured appearances from various popular Star Wars characters from all over the galaxy, including Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, Han Solo (unfortunately encased carbonite at this point), Maz Kanata, Hondo Ohnaka, Jabba the Hutt, and even Ben Quadinaros!

Here’s the brand-new trailer for season 2!

I have to say, as a fan of all LEGO Star Wars, and particularly the Freemaker family, I was very excited to see this news. However, my fangirling levels REALLY skyrocketed when–

–that certain green-skinned Rebel general (who, I must admit, has become one of my favorite Star Wars characters of all time) showed up!!!

I really can’t wait for season 2 to start, and I’m sure many of my readers here can’t either! Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and be looking for more thoughts on this news in a soon-coming episode of “The Elven Padawan” podcast (now available on iTunes!)

  1. Oh yes, and we’ve been instructed to keep our eyes open on Star Wars Day (May 4th) for 5 special shorts airing Disney X D that will fill in the time between seasons 1 and 2, as well as more news and sneak peaks at Celebration Orlando (now less than 2 weeks away!!) 😀

    1. We just refreshed on season 1 by watching the first and last episodes last night! It’s really fun, and there’s actually a lot more substantial story and intensity in it than any other Star Wars LEGO thing I’ve seen. 😀
