The Star Wars official website has just announced the airing schedule and episode titles for the first half of the fourth and final season of the Disney XD show, Star Wars: Rebels.
Star Wars Rebels returns for its fourth and final season beginning Monday, October 16, on Disney XD. Many episodes will be broadcast back-to-back through November 13, making for an hour of action and adventure courtesy of the Ghost crew. (Even Chopper is excited!)
You can mark your calendars for the following episodes:
- Monday, 10/16 – “Heroes of Mandalore” Parts 1 & 2
- Monday, 10/23 – “In the Name of the Rebellion” Parts 1 & 2
- Monday, 10/30 – “The Occupation” and “Flight of the Defender”
- Monday, 11/6 – “Kindred” and “Crawler Commandeers”
- Monday, 11/13 – “Rebel Assault”
Following a holiday break, Star Wars Rebels will be back in early 2018 for its final run of episodes leading up to the top-secret series finale.
Look for new episodes every Monday with five airings throughout the day at 12:30 a.m., 3:00 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 5:30 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. ET on Disney XD, the Disney XD App, and VOD. StarWars.com’s Rebels Recon behind-the-scenes series will be posted after the 9 p.m. broadcast, and episode guides will be published on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT.
So it seems that we’ll still be getting a mid-season break for the show over the holidays, even though season 4 is a shortened season, and many episodes will be released two-at-a-time on Disney XD. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand it seems good, since it will cause the season to stretch out long and Rebels won’t end as fast (since as we all know by now, this is the last season). On the other hand, I’m a little bummed about it, since it means waiting that much long to find out the fates of Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Kanan Jarrus, and Zeb. We already know Hera Syndulla, captain of the Ghost and “mother” to the crew, and Chopper, the faithful – though constantly-grumbling – astromech droid, as well as the ship itself will all make it out, due to their appearences in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the (“canon-adjacent”) LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures show, which wrapped up its second season on Disney XD this summer. Perhaps including the break is an attempt to balance out the fast-paced schedule set by airing two episodes on most weeks, instead of the usual one-per-week scheme set by previous seasons. Of course, we’ll also have Star Wars Episode VIII: the Last Jedi airing during that gap as well, so maybe the second half of the season will include hints and tie-ins to that movie that they can’t safely have out before the movie premiers. Either way, I’m still very excited to see what this last season holds, and while sad to see the end of the show, as well as very nervous for the survival of my favorite rebel team, I can’t wait until October 16.
What do you think of the new airing schedule and episode titles? What do you expect to see in this final season? Let me know in the comments! I always love to hear from and chat with my readers!

I’m nervous about who will survive – or not – too. I thought we’d get 5 seasons out of Rebels, but apparently Filoni and crew thought it best to end things now rather than later. Rats. I am going to miss this show!

Aw, I have to agree so much! I’m trusting that Filoni knows what he’s doing, and I’m definitely happy that he’s getting to end this one on his own terms, but I do wish we had longer with it.
I’m really hopeful for the next animated series we get from these guys, and that we’ll get to see at least some of the Ghost crew again soon…
