  1. Congratulations on the updates for your blog! It looks good. I’m eager to read yours and Audrey’s next posts. 🙂

There is no way to stop being a “fan.” As Louis L’Amour wrote in The Cherokee Trail (I’m paraphrasing him here), stories are our friends. We may put them aside when we get tired or need to do something else important, but they’re always ready to talk to us again when we pick them up later. I myself came to LOTR fandom via the films; they are a worthy entry point into Middle-earth in my opinion, Audrey.

Speaking of fandoms, I wonder if either of you have heard of The Hobbit Party: The Vision of Freedom That Tolkien Got, and the West Forgot. It was written by Jonathan Witt and Jay W. Richards and is very insightful; though they take readers into the weeds in a few places, on the whole it is a good book to help fans of LOTR understand Middle-earth – the fictional one and the real one – better. There are also articles about LOTR by various authors at The Imaginative Conservative, an online magazine, which you may enjoy as well.

Before I sign off, I have to add that if I couldn’t be a Jedi, I would want to be a Mandalorian. Preferably a combination of the two. I’d also want a blue lightsaber. ;D Remember that the Force will be with you, always!

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that book, but I’ll definitely have to check it out now! Thanks for the recommends!! 😀
