Helllllllo, listeners! I’m back again this week to share another episode of, not The Elven Padawan podcast, but the Star Wars Geek Girl podcast! I had fully intended to produce a new installation of my own show for May the 4th/Revenge of the 5th, but after doing this episode with Zoe and Lizzy, I felt far too hyper to fit still long enough to do any more recording. And you’ll see the reason for my bounciness in the very title of the episode…
Zoe contacted me several days before they were set to record to ask if I’d like to join her and Lizzy once again for their special May the 4th Be With You episode. In case you don’t remember, I recently guested on their podcast along with several others for their Sabine-centric episode, and as I always love chatting with fellow Star Wars fans who also happen to be girls near my age, I jumped at the chance. Of course, I’d love to join them!
But, as it turns out, I was in for a special surprise I had in no way expected: that we were also being joined by the voice of Hera Syndulla herself, Vanessa Marshall!!
Anyone who knows me knows that I could rant about Hera forever. There are a ton of reasons why I love the Captain of the Ghost crew, now General in the Rebel Alliance, though I’ll spare you the ranting for now. Let’s just say that, in fangirl terms, I was freaking. OUT! to hear Vanessa’s voice on the other end of the call. Trying hard to hold it together wasn’t easy, and I had to keep internally pinching myself to keep from zoning out. It wasn’t that I was disinterested in the conversation – quite the opposite, in fact! The problem was that it felt as though I was listening to an already-recorded podcast episode from the queue on my iPod, and I wanted to drink it all in as opposed to staying engaged in the conversation myself, trying to keep myself relatively professional and not flail all over the place or say anything totally stupid. Though now that I listen back, I think I was rather uncharacteristically giggly throughout the episode…
So all that said, and with one more gigantic THANK YOU to the girls for having me on this show and giving me this fantastic surprise, please enjoy this great new episode of the Star Wars Geek Girl podcast! 😀
