The Elven Padawan – #15 – Solo: A Star Wars Story

Ok, let’s be honest – “Squee Session” would probably be a much better name than “Review” for what happens in this episode.

Shay is thrilled to welcome TEP blogger Audrey to the podcast!! Together the two girls talk about the newest installment in the Star Wars movie series, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. They keep their fangirling spoiler-free for the first 6 minutes, but after that, the floodgates are open, and they don’t hold back!
Was there anyone truly “good” or “bad” in this film?
Will we be seeing a sequel or follow-up to SOLO?
What did **** really want with Qi’ra??
And that one character who we all now love!!
We also discuss some of the cool references and easter eggs hidden throughout this movie and do our best to answer a listener question about crossovers from other parts of the Star Wars universe.

Thanks so much to Johnamarie Macias from The Wookiee Gunner for sending in her questions for us to discuss on the show!!

Shownotes:

You know, he’s younger in this movie and that’s fun because you have to imagine him 10 years earlier in his early 20s. What was he like before he hardened up? Before he had some setbacks? Before he put on this cynical coat? What got him there?“―Lawrence Kasdan[src]

  1. So I listened to this twice (haven’t seen the movie yet, but I was too excited for the podcast to wait!)–great thoughts and character analysis! Have I mentioned I love listening to this while I paint? And I laughed when you said, “Maul got very talkative after he got cut in half”! 😀

Oh, goodness, all those droids together in one room? Chaos, my friend, and snark-to-snark combat for approximately 17.4 hours. 🙂

Also, I’m afraid Patreon donations aren’t an option for me at the moment, but is there anything I can do to help out you guys with your Elven Padawan projects?

    Thanks for the review!

    1. Ah, I’m so glad you enjoyed this episode! Thank you so much for your comment, it really makes me smile so wide when people let me know that they’ve enjoyed my work and quote myself back to me! 😀

Just knowing you love the show is enough support to keep me going, though if you have the ability to leave a review on any of the podcast distributors I mentioned in the end, it would be so helpful! And if you’re ever inspired to send some art our way, or illustrate a fanfic we’ve written, we would love it unendingly. But I know how hard art is and how one must be in just the right mood to produce certain things, so I’m totally not expecting it of you. Just letting you know the door is wide open should you ever take a fancy to trying it out. 😀
Also, I just wanted to run it by you before actually doing this: would you have any issue to me screenshotting your comment here and publishing it on our Twitter account? I’m trying to do better with sharing the comments, review, etc. we get here at TEP, but I want to make sure it’s ok with you first.

Hope you have a wonderful evening and weekend and thank you again for the kind words!!

      1. Absolutely! I really enjoy the podcast!

Thanks for letting me know other ways to help! And those are some great ways–I’ll see what I can do! (Hehe, yeah, you’re right about the art moods, but I’d still like to give it a shot! By ‘send it your way’ do you mean email artwork to you or tweet it or what?)

Feel free to post the comment! I don’t have a problem with it, but thanks for checking first! That’s really kind of you!

        Have a great evening! 🙂

        1. You could email it, or tweet it if you have the ability, or even post it on your site and tag us, if you’d like. I’m subbed to your blog, so I’d see it if you put it on there, and I could put it up here as well. Whatever you’d feel most comfortable with if you ever happened to do that. 🙂
