It’s time to discuss all the amazing news coming from Lucasfilm animation as only two fangirls can! Please welcome Grace back to the studio as she and Shay talk about everyone’s favorite cartoons in a galaxy far, far away!
There’s been a lot of craziness in the Star War fandom lately, so we’ve decided it’s time to take a quick detour into another fandom that needs some serious love right now: the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Ok, let’s be honest – “Squee Session” would probably be a much better name than “Review” for what happens in this episode.
Shay is thrilled to welcome TEP blogger Audrey to the podcast!! Together the two girls talk about the newest installment in the Star Wars movie series, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. They keep their fangirling spoiler-free for the first 6 minutes, but after that, the floodgates are open, and they don’t hold back!
Was there anyone truly “good” or “bad” in this film?
Will we be seeing a sequel or follow-up to SOLO?
What did **** really want with Qi’ra??
And that one character who we all now love!!
We also discuss some of the cool references and easter eggs hidden throughout this movie and do our best to answer a listener question about crossovers from other parts of the Star Wars universe.
Thanks so much to Johnamarie Macias from The Wookiee Gunner for sending in her questions for us to discuss on the show!!
The Elven Padawan podcast is back from hiatus!
Helllllllo, listeners! I’m back again this week to share another episode of, not The Elven Padawan podcast, but the Star Wars Geek Girl podcast! I had fully intended to produce a new installation of my own show for May the 4th/Revenge of the 5th, but after doing this episode with Zoe and Lizzy, I felt far too hyper to fit still long enough to do any more recording. And you’ll see the reason for my bounciness in the very title of the episode…
So most of you have probably noticed already that there was no new episode of The Elven Padawan podcast this past Saturday. And I am here to tell you that there is a legitimate reason for that this time, and it’s not just another case of “Shay-got-bogged-down-with-schoolwork-and-also-forgot-and-also-didn’t-feel-like-setting-up-the-microphone-when-Saturday-finally-came.”
The reason? I did record a podcast, just not with The Elven Padawan!
In which Shay begins the podcast by delivering a rant about how she sees the current state of things in fandoms, and how it bothers her, and finishes by offering some thoughts about the latest episodes of Star Wars Rebels.
Finally, another episode of The Elven Padawan podcast!
In this episode, Shay interviews Star Wars fanfiction writer, Aceofstars16! Ace is also a HUGE Star Wars Rebels fan, so you probably already know where this is heading.
Besides the interview (and obsessing over Rebels), the girls also discuss their Star Wars OTPs, social media, The Last Jedi, Mortis connections with the rest of the saga, and what the canon lifespan of a Twi’lek is.
It’s finally time for Shay’s thoughts on STAR WARS VIII: THE LAST JEDI!!!
Actually, it’s more like unorganized ranting about different main aspects of the film here… Shay explores her thoughts on The Force Awakens and how they compare to The Last Jedi, and what she thought of the film overall. Then she goes into some thoughts on the character highpoints: Rey’s development, Rey and Kylo’s relationship, Luke’s change and whether it destroys his character or not, and more.
(There will probably be another part to thisin the form of a legitimate review next time, cuz this girl has waaay too many thoughts to fit into one 1-hour episode!!)
In celebration of the premier of Star Wars VIII: THE LAST JEDI, there’s something really special going on with The Elven Padawan: a whole episode of your pre-TLJ thoughts!
Shay asked for your thoughts on a few key things concerning THE LAST JEDI, including porgs, R2-D2 vs. BB-8, lightsaber colors, and more, and now she’s back with all your answers, compiled into a “questions-on-the-street” news channel style. But don’t worry, there are no spoilers here; all questions are speculations and personal opinions only, and all answers were sent back and compiled before TLJ premiered, so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, there’s nothing to worry about.
