A Note of Thanks

Hey everyone!!

Or, maybe the more appropriate greeting would be…

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

This Thanksgiving, I wanted to just take a moment and say a huge THANK YOU to all of you guys who have contributed to The Elven Padawan in any way.

I wanted to re-post this series of tweets here on the blog for those of you who might not have Twitter, and haven’t seen them already.

To my readers here on the TEP blog, and those of you who tune into the podcast: Thank you all so much for supporting The Elven Padawan, and helping me get it started. I know it’s nothing like a lot of the big networks and fan sites out there, and what I write isn’t even all that great; I’m just a teenaged fangirl who got tired of annoying my family members who didn’t know the difference between an ewok and a hobbit with all my ridiculous rants and theories and ended up creating this whole mess. But I’m so thankful for those of you who do read and listen, who diligently “like” and comment on each post I publish, and check up here to find out the latest Star Wars related news. I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year, and can’t wait to show you some of the new things I have in mind for around here. Much love and thanks again! – Shay 🙂

To my Father, the King: Thank you for everything you’ve given me, and specifically for these amazing stories you’ve given us the inspiration and imagination for. Thank you for all the amazing people who I’ve met because of them, and the fascinating conversations we’ve had, and all the valuable moments I have experienced as a direct result of this endeavor. I pray that I will be able to continue this path for a long time to come. Love from your crazy daughter – Shay

New Star Wars Rebels season 4 teasers!

We have a new preview for Star Wars: Rebels, featuring brand-new clips from the season opener, “Heroes of Mandalore”!!

Less than an hour ago on Disney XD’s official Twitter, this new preview for the 4th and final season of Star Wars: Rebels was dropped:

The new preview features shots from the war-ravened surface of Mandalore, including our first long, hard look at the devastation left by that now-infamous weapon, which we can assume is the same one built by Sabine Wren, all those years ago. It would seem that Grand Admiral Thrawn is more than happy to bring this weapon back to use, and once again stir up the fight, both inwards and outwards, of the girl who created it. No doubt about it, this season premier is going to be a wild ride, and for those of us who didn’t have the privilege of watching it at Celebration Orlando or Fan Expo Canada earlier this year, the days are drawer nearer when we’ll be finally be able to get all the details on the war about to break out on Mandalore.

Two other teasers for the 4th season of Rebels were also revealed recently, and though these don’t seem to include any new shots of distinct importance, they are interesting and are serving to get us all even more hyped before the show starts back on the 16th of this month.

A big thanks to Johnamarie Macias (@BlueJaigEyes) of The Wookiee Gunner for spreading those last two teasers around! 🙂

These teasers serve as a reminder of just how far the show has come since it’s beginning on Lothal, smoking out Imperials and stealing food for displaced civilians. Although we still all loved those days when things were simpler, and to be honest, I sometimes miss the happier-toned, family adventures of the Ghost crew. But Ezra is right when he reminds us, “This is how a rebellion starts.” Last season we saw the actual formation of the Rebel Alliance, and now we’re seeing that last bit of time that led up to events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and finally to the full-out Galactic Civil War showcased in the original trilogy of Star Wars films. And that’s the part I want people to understand. It’s not just some badly animated, kidsy-fied, Disney-channel Star Wars show. This is showing us history, pieces that may not be totally necessary to understanding the rest of the saga, but sure do explain a lot and make you realize just how much the whole story is tied together, just as Rogue One did. Not to mention how much has been drawn from the old Legends brand back into the New Canon storytelling. But I’m afraid too many people dismiss this great piece of storytelling because they don’t care for the animated, or, as I’m truly starting to think, because it’s become “cool” to hate on the show. And that’s a shame, because they’re missing out on some fantastic Star Wars.

Ok, sorry for the rant. I’m finished now. 🙂
